The Richard J. O’Brien Foundation was formed to honor the memory of Rich O’Brien, who passed away in September 2010. Rich was actively involved with many non-profit organizations on Long Island and always gave generously of his time – especially to organizations benefitting children and their families.

The Foundation was organized by Rich’s family and friends to continue to support charities focusing on children in need of special care and bereavement counseling and other services. The Foundation also supports organizations dealing with children’s health issues. Through June 2023, the Foundation has donated over $600,000 to various children’s charities.

All of the Foundation’s work is carried out by volunteers.
